UK – 20th January 2016
RUSTA has announced it is to offer the most cost effective route to achieve CAA Permission For Aerial Work (PFAW) in the UK
The decision to reduce the current cost of the Remote Pilot Certificate SUAS (RPCS) course comes after a successful first year as an original CAA National Qualified Entity (NQE).
RUSTA has reduced its 2016 prices in order to remain as a leading supplier of PFAW training.
“We sincerely believe that the high standards set by RUSTA must prevail,” explained Sion Roberts, Head of the Academy at RUSTA. “To prevent a dilution in the standards of training, and in order to further ensure that the SUAS industry is properly and correctly regulated in accordance with CAA requirements using correctly experienced flight instructors, RUSTA has decided to reduce the price for candidates.”
The full cost of the RPCS course has been reduced to £900 including VAT which provides candidates with:
- Access to an online eLearning package
- Groundschool (theory) course over two and a half days with an experienced aviation instructor
- Operations manual guidance
- Operations manual assessment
- Operational evaluation (flight test) at one of its approved locations.
After successful completion of the RPCS course, candidates can obtain their PFAW from the CAA, which allows them to operate their UAV (or drone) for commercial gain legally in the UK.
RUSTA ran its first course in March 2015 and has since trained over 300 operators at various locations around the UK.
